NYX-mania!

Hi Love's,

I've heard a lot of good things about NYX Cosmetics, so I decided to have a look at a few reviews on YouTube and on Blog sites to see what people recommended. I was overwhelmed with a number of reviews, and came to the conclusion to try one product from each section. Since it's not a UK based company, I had second thoughts about placing an order, since shipping would take forever and I wouldn't want any of the products to arrive damage (and it would cost a lot too) but I found that they now have UK based office where they ship from within the UK (yaaaaay :-D). I couldn't resist and placed an order with them last week.

I picked up a number of things and have been trying them out throughout last week. Here are my thoughts...

No.1:  NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - 620 Bronze - £4.50

NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil - 620 Bronze

This product is a staple piece, everyone should have in their collection. It is regularly used as a cream base, to put on before your eyeshadow, but I feel it could be used a highlight too (if bought in the right colour). These Jumbo Eye Pencil's are blendable and come in a good range of colours. I originally wanted to get 604 - Milk (a pure matte white pencil) but it was sold out online :( I decided to pick up 620 Bronze, as I thought it would be a good base for my Bronze eyeshadow from my Sleek - iDivine Palette. The colours are super similar as you can see.

I definitely want to try different shades of these pencils. As they definitely make eyeshadows appear brighter.

No.2: NYX Loose Glitter Powder - 05 Gold - £2.50

NYX Loose Glitter Powder - 05 Gold

With the holidays right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to spruce up my makeup for some upcoming events. I decided to purchase the Gold Loose Glitter, since some of the other colours they had available were a bit too bright for my complexion. This would look beautiful on top of a bronze eyeshadow look or even a natural looking smokey eye. It's easily blend-able and surprisingly easy to remove too (always a plus).

Below: without base and primer

I would definitely love to try the other colours, like 02 Apple, 07 Purple and 08 Hot Gold.

No.3: NYX Long Pencil Lip - 17 Nutmeg - £2.00

NYX Long Pencil Lip - 17 Nutmeg

Since I am trying to build my collection and venture into different brands, I thought why not pick up my first ever lip liner. As I hardly ever buy lip products (other than lipgloss) I decided to pick up a natural colour which would suit my complexion. 17 Nutmeg is perfect for my skin colour as it's not too dark and not too light. I find that it's build-able and works well as a base for any lip colour. Oh and I forgot to mention it's super long so will probably last for a while too.

I would definitely re-purchase this lipliner, as it is good value for money, and the colour pay off is great.

Beauty by Cosmopolitan (A Cosmopolitan special)

Hi love's,

Whilst at the store I was browsing the magazines section and I saw this special edition Beauty Magazine by Cosmopolitan, so obviously I had to get it, since you know I love all things make-up and beauty related :) Any ways, whilst I flicked through it, I thought I'd learn some new tips and tricks about make-up, but found that its really just filled with a variety of beauty and make-up products rather than instructions. Kinda felt like a big book of advertisements.

Nevertheless, I was inspired by some of the looks featured and it really motivated me to try some out (so stay tuned for a possible post)!!! I've included some of the looks which I'm eager to try below, so take a look and let me know what you think.

Front cover: Beauty By Cosmopolitan

Inspirational look No.1:
The intensity of the eye is the first thing I noticed, when I saw this look. I love how it brings out the colour of her eyes, rather than just blending in with her eye colour (which I've seen many smokey eyes do). The naturalness of the rest of her make-up emphasises her eyes even more. I love her cute little hair band too, it reminds me of the 'Statue of Liberty'

Inspirational Look No.2:
The first thing I notice about this look are her LIPSSS!!!! Omg they are freaking amazing, the colour works so well for her skin tone and just makes me want to buy that lipstick then and there.

Inspirational Look No.3:
I've been seeing a lot of these simple but yet statement looks recently. I mean, I know everyone would not  be able to pull this look off, but I don't know why it just grabbed my attention. Love the colour of her eye shadow and the heavy contour is something I've been sooo into recently. Especially during winter months, it brings such a warmth to your skin.

I forgot to mention that I bought this for £5.99 (a bit pricy for a magazine, I know) and it came out during the Summer 2012. So the majority of looks featured are summer looks, with the occasional fall look. I'm pretty sure you can still get this at your local Newsagents. So go and pick yourself one up.

Let me know what your favourite looks are for the Winter, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Love Meenal,
xoxo

Waking up to Snow.. YAAAAY!

Hi love's,

So I know the winter is here and I should expect the snow (especially in the UK) but I really wasn't expecting it and when I woke up this morning, guess what? It had snowed over night!!!!!!! Like a little school girl, I was super excited!!!

I love it when it snows, it's always an excuse to go out and have snow fights, build snow man's and go sledding. I love the atmosphere it brings when it snow's to, my sister, dad and I sat at home snuggled up in warm blankets, with the heating on, tea, coffee and hot chocolate on hand and watched movie's all day.

I snapped a quick picture just as the sun was going down and it looks soo pretty! See...

Its not much since the majority had melted away by then, but I'm hoping it snows more around Christmas time.

So tell me, what are your favourite things about the snow or the winter months? I'd love to know.

Love Meenal,
xoxo

Welcome to my Blog!!

Hi my love's,

So this is my first ever blog post and I thought I'd take the plunge and make a start and begin to document my obsession for, all things Make-up, Beauty and Fashion related. I'm so sounding like a typical 'girly girl', but I REALLY do enjoy reading and hearing about new products on the market, especially for Asian skin, since there is not much out there for us. :-(

So please feel free to make any suggestions, what you would like me to review and I'll try and make it possible.

Love Meenal
xoxo
